Web 2.0 Websites For The Rest Of Us - Content 2.0
Today, many Site Build It sites are web 2.0 websites. Thanks to the use of SiteSell's own web 2.0 application called Content 2.0 SBI sites have become highly interactive, combining information with social networking. As a certified Site Build It webmaster I can set up Content 2.0 for your site, too. Before I explain what Content 2.0 does and how it works, it's important to answer this question: What does Web 2.0 mean?According to Wikipedia, a web 2.0 site allows its visitors to communicate with each other by contributing to the content of the website. The "first generation of websites" (web 1.0, you could call them) were passive and simply displayed information, not allowing users to share their own information and experience. In those days, webmasters had to add a guestbook or forum application to encourage visitors to contribute. Web 2.0 websites are big, nowadays, and some of the most successful examples of this approach are Facebook, YouTube and MySpace. SiteSell has developed its own application called Content 2.0 which is a standard feature of "Site Build It 2.0" - as the latest version of SBI is called. This is how it works: - On selected pages of your website you can ask visitors a specific question and encourage them to fill in a form.
- You get a chance to edit, approve or delete a submission before it is put online - this way you keep away spammers and nasty posts.
- When approved, each submission is automatically turned into a web page.
Since this happens to each individual submission, the size of your website will grow quickly which will help you in the search engines and pull in extra traffic as these extra pages will also be indexed by the search engines. People can also comment on (and rate) submissions of other users which leads to another web page. Content 2.0 creates a community feeling that is typical for web 2.0 websites. It generates return visits and grows traffic. And more traffic means more business. There are Content 2.0 users that currently own websites with 3000+ pages - of which they only wrote 100 or so themselves. The rest was created by their visitors - for free! You can use Content 2.0 for all kinds of visitor submissions, for example.... - Product reviews
- Frequently Asked Questions pages
- Top-10 lists (favorite movies, favorite sights, songs etc.)
- A mini Facebook with pages for regular contributors
- Directory listings
Etc...Not only does it grow content and traffic, many users also report a substantially higher income since they started with this module. There is an almost limitless number of ways to grow online income through Content 2.0. For a better idea of how Content 2.0 turns your web presence into a web 2.0 websites, visit

You Still Have To Work... But Less HardStill, Content 2.0 does NOT make it easy to succeed online. It only makes it easier. You still have to work to create a core site with valuable content (or outsource this task to a certified webmaster). As a rule of thumb, you should not add Content 2.0 until you have at least 30 pages of great, unique content and minimum 30-40 unique visitors daily. Otherwise you won't get any Content 2.0 submissions at all (simply because of lack of traffic). Even then, it largely depends on the quality of the content you created yourself. There are many sites who thrive with Content 2.0, but only after the owners put work in creating their own content, which is necessary to generate traffic. That said, it is an excellent tool to help your business grow.
